WIMBLEDON ART STUDIOS
Patrick Nash – Ceramicist

Wimbledon Art Studios opened in 1992 with just six artists in the hope of building a community for creatives.
It has since grown to house over 200 studios, where people work on everything from paintings and screen prints to ceramics and sculptures.
The artists and makers here rent individual studios to create their work and open to the pubic twice a year to showcase, inspire and sell their pieces. It’s an environment immersed in creativity and one well worth visiting.
During our visit, we spoke with Patrick Nash at studio 606. He was busy tightening the strings on his guitar before we got chatting about his love for ceramics and having taught in colleges during his career. His work in the studio was a wash of neutral seaside tones; it was evident that he spent a lot of his time testing his glazes on small tiles before committing to a shade for his next considered piece.
