AFC WIMBLEDON – DRESSING JOHNNIE JACKSON
Dressing AFC Wimbledon manager Johnnie Jackson for Wembley.
THAT WINNING TOUCH
Wembley Stadium,
London
Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of meeting AFC Wimbledon manager Johnnie Jackson, who was seeking a sharp yet understated look to wear on the touchline for high-profile fixtures and key club functions. From the outset, it was clear that comfort, style, and professionalism were top priorities.
During our consultation with Johnnie, we discussed the importance of a modern, tailored silhouette that wouldn’t compromise ease of movement—essential for those high-pressure match days. After exploring a range of quality British fabrics, we landed on HFW Fresco: a robust yet breathable cloth that offers a crisp, structured appearance while helping to keep the wearer cool under pressure. For the shirt, we selected a classic white poplin cotton with a cutaway collar; clean, timeless, and effortlessly elegant.
We took a full set of measurements and agreed on a refined design: a single-breasted, two-button jacket with a notch lapel, paired with flat-front trousers fastened with a side strap and buckle for a sleeker finish. To incorporate a subtle touch of club pride, we designed an embroidered crest for the breast pocket. After a few samples we landed on a tonal navy thread for a discreet yet distinguished detail.
While we typically expect to make a few minor alterations at the fitting for first-time clients, we were all thrilled when the suit was a first time fit!
Johnnie, known for his traditionally sportier touchline attire, waited for the right moment to unveil his new look. That moment came in May 2025, as AFC Wimbledon defied the odds to reach the League Two Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium. With promotion to League One on the line, Johnnie led his team onto the pitch looking every bit the part in his made-to-measure Brittany suit and shirt.
In a tense and unforgettable match, Wimbledon secured a 1–0 victory over Walsall FC, clinching promotion in style. It was an incredible day for the club, and we were proud to be a part of it. Thank you to Johnnie and AFC Wimbledon, we wish you all the best of luck for the upcoming season.
