‘I wish you could feel this place, just let it seep into you… there’s a goodness here… something that clears your eyes’

John Steinbeck on Bruton, Somerset (1959)

We spent 48 hours in the small town of Bruton shooting all the new pieces we’ve created so far this year.

We stayed at Number One Bruton, “A Georgian townhouse, medieval forge and row of cottages carefully converted in to a twelve-bedroom hotel set around a pretty private courtyard”.

The stunning courtyard made for the perfect backdrop for a few of the looks and the cottage in which we stayed was faultless with its rustic stone walls, exposed beams and quarry-tiled floors.

After a stonebaked chorizo pizza from ‘At The Chapel’, which we ate along the River Brue, we headed across the road to The Space at Caro, a B&B, photography studio and events space. This is where we took the majority of our lookbook photographs. A very cute space with a hand painted back drop and a few essential props.

The following day we ate breakfast at Osip, the small Michelin starred restaurant adjoining the hotel. Osip are a farm-to-table restaurant that work with local farmers, growers, hunters and gatherers and even local potter @_colettewoods_ to present beautiful tasty dishes to their guests.

All in all it was the perfect stay and we’d highly recommend each place we visited.
